African drumming, crafts and how hundreds of thousands of pounds should be spent were on the cards as 100 residents got together for a community celebration.
Youngsters enjoyed a giant inflatable slide while the adults gave opinions on £200,000 of funding by Circle Housing Merton Priory to bring improvements to the area.
The event in Phipps Bridge, Mitcham, also had people making healthy fruit kebabs, take part in creative activities and have professional photographs taken.
The National Playday Celebration was a joint initiative by Merton Voluntary Service Council, Circle Housing Merton Priory and Wandle Housing in Phipps Bridge on Wednesday, August 6.
Michelle Mundy of Circle Housing Merton Priory said: “The event was a great success.
“As well as forging new friendships and enjoying the fun activities on offer, the adults and young people who attended were able to put forward ideas on how a fund run by Circle Housing Merton Priory should be spent to bring improvements to the local area.”
