Two of London’s hotly tipped emerging artists are joining together to stage a special performance at the unusual venue of a hair salon.

Soul singer Melissa James and blues singer Mark Harrison will each perform their own sets at the Love&Dye hair salon in Wimbledon before teaming-up to duet for the finale.

James merges soulful blues-folk with country and gospel. Her vocal range travels deep as it does high and she sings with power but will grip you with those softly sung, long and lingering notes that finish with a gentle waiver.

She uses her voice to convey the message and that is, in the end, what draws you in.

Harrison has established a reputation for making a unique kind of all-original music, based on the style of the early blues artists, with a modern twist.

His songs, with their memorable tunes, striking lyrics and strong and compelling rhythms, all have something to say or a story to tell.

Mark is a thrilling, rhythmic, finger-picker and slide player, with a very distinctive style, and his music has been going down very well with audiences of all kinds.

Love&Dye hair salon hosted its first concert last year with James performing and it proved to be a sell-out success.

Already known for its extra-curricular activities such as art classes and music lessons, it is fast being seen as the area’s creative hub.
