Joel Ward admitted he felt gutted after Crystal Palace were beaten 2-1 by Manchester United in the FA Cup final.
Jason Puncheon fired the Eagles in front in the 78th minute, but a Juan Mata strike ensured the game went into extra-time.
Jesse Lingard’s superb finish on 110 minutes left Wayne Hennessey helpless and settled the affair with Palace unable to strike back.
Ward, 26, said: “We are all disappointed but we all know we gave everything we had and left nothing out there.
“On another day maybe things would have gone differently, but we will hold our heads up high and keep on going.
“It’s gutting and it hurts obviously. But you’ve got to get up, dust yourself off and go again.
“It’s a disappointment but you have to bounce back.”
